Quality Matters: Our Commitment to All Learners

The AACTE is making good on its promise to make a difference in the Big Easy by participating in the Adopt-A-Classroom Program.

AACTE is adopting Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Charter School for Science & Technology, which continues to recover from the ravages of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. Members wishing to contribute to the New Orleans school should go to the Adopt-A-Classroom Program web site, click on the Classroom Locator, input the teacher's name (Sylvia Ellison) and state (Louisiana), and follow the online directions.

"We felt this was a fantastic opportunity to carry out a portion of our mission, which is to have a direct impact on the classroom," says Dr. Sharon P. Robinson, President and CEO of AACTE. "This is another chance to show the people of Louisiana they are not alone in rebuilding their communities and their schools. When AACTE said we were coming to New Orleans on a mission, we meant it."
