Little things mean a lot, even years after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. That's why for the past three years a group of faculty and students from Millersville University of Pennsylvania have "adopted" Hope Loughran and her first graders at Edward Hynes Charter School in New Orleans. The group presented the teacher with a check for $300 at the recent AACTE conference. The money was raised by the group with the help of posters and passersby who donated spare change. The money will bolster the supply inventory for the youngsters and provides Millersville with a continuing lesson in direct involvement. Listen to why the faculty and staff feel its important to help in the following audio files.
