HOW DO WE GET A CONSULTANT TO HELP WITH OUR INSTITUTION'S UPCOMING NCATE REVIEW OR OTHER PROGRAM NEEDS?

How do we get a consultant to help with our institution's upcoming NCATE review or other program needs?

  • Consultant requests for NCATE or other program review efforts are referred through AACTE's Professional Issues Department.

  • Requests should be made by the institutional representative who will be responsible for the consultant's scope of work with the institution or professional education unit.

  • Following conversation to gain appropriate background information on the nature and extent of the consultant request, AACTE provides a short list of recommended consultants that is tailored to the institution's particular request and institutional context factors (such as teacher education enrollment, program size and scope).

  • Requests may specify consultants with particular experience, for instance Board of Examiners or Unit Accreditation Board. Institutions may request in-state or out-of-state consultants, as well as recommendation of individuals to conduct mock visits in advance of the BoE review. AACTE often provides consultants to institutions that have received denial or probation decisions on the most recent NCATE review.

  • Information related to consultant requests is treated as confidential.

  • For more information and to request consultant referrals, please contact Mary Beth Nowinski, Coordinator for Technical Assistance
