FIRST INTERNATIONAL FORUM PAPERS

AACTE presented its First International Forum during its 53rd Annual Meeting on March 3, 2001 in Dallas, Texas. The purpose of the forum was to stimulate discussion and participation in defining what represents a globally competent teacher educator. Education experts from several countries discussed strategies for incorporating a global dimension in education. These experts presented papers highlighting their views on: the phenomenon of globalization and its implications for nations and peoples worldwide; successful strategies for incorporating the global dimension in education from other countries; and the implications of globalization for U.S. teacher education and a framework for defining the globally competence teacher educator.
