The 2006-2009 Journal of Teacher Education Host Editorship Team: The School of Education at the University of Colorado- Boulder

A three-member team from the School of Education at the University of Colorado-Boulder (UCB) assumed editorship of AACTE's Journal of Teacher Education (JTE) in 2005. UCB faculty members Hilda Borko, Daniel P. Liston, and Jennifer Whitcomb share editing responsibilities for the journal beginning with the May/June 2006 (Vol. 57, Number 3) issue. Their term will expire with the November/December 2009 issue (Vol. 60, Number 5).

Borko, professor of education and immediate past president of the American Educational Research Association (AERA), is also chair of the educational psychology program at UCB. Her research explores, among other topics, teacher cognition and the process of learning to teach, with an emphasis on changes in novice and experienced teachers' knowledge and beliefs about teaching, learning, and assessment. Her teaching interests are in the areas of effective instructional practices, teacher learning, and helping preservice teachers and teacher educators become reflective practitioners. Borko has served in a number of editorial capacities and has served as an AACTE institutional representative for two universities.

Liston is professor of education in the educational foundations policy and practice program and in the instruction and curriculum in the content areas program. His research interests include curriculum theory, teacher education, and radical educational theory. His teaching interests focus on curriculum theory, the social and political foundations of schooling, and radical educational critiques and proposals. Liston has served on editorial review boards, is active in various professional organizations, and once received the AACTE Outstanding Writing Award.

Whitcomb is assistant dean of teacher education and administrative services and planning. Her academic specializations are in the areas of teaching and teacher education, case methods, teacher learning, group work instruction, and literacy. Her related teaching areas are the practice of teaching, research on teaching, teaching and learning environments, and literacy policy. Whitcomb has served as a journal article reviewer, is active in a number of organizations including Division K of AERA, and has been involved in technology-related grant projects.
