Topical Action Groups
As today’s school leaders face environments of increased accountability, major reform initiatives, and heightened expectations for their roles in education, universities are scrutinizing and renewing their principal preparation programs to ensure their graduates have the skills and understanding needed to lead effectively. This TAG provides a forum for faculty and administrators to engage in discussions, identify promising practices, and determine priority areas for action related to principal preparation practice, research, and policy.
Planned projects for the TAG include, among other activities, growing a professional development network and clearinghouse for school leadership technical support and other resources; serving as a communication link among key professional organizations and with AACTE’s membership; and investigating opportunities to support full-year clinical internships for principal candidates.
